Students from the East and Wendouree campuses and many other Ballarat schools complete their secondary education at the Barkly campus. Here our students study in a purpose-built, well-equipped and modern senior secondary learning environment.

Students have the choice of studying for the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL). Many students also integrate a Vocational Education and Training (VET) certifcate into their program.

Students have access to a large selection of subjects as well as a variety of alternate pathways including School Based Apprenticeships (SBA).

The award winning pathways model at Barkly ensures that students are well connected to school. Pathways mentors support students in their studies, wellbeing and in planning their future learning and employment goals.

We aim for every student to achieve their best, to continually improve their learning and to prepare for success in their chosen pathway.
To support this aim we expect –

  • Compulsory and punctual attendance.
  • Dedicated commitment to individual learning both in class and during study time.
  • Positive contribution to the culture of learning within our campus.
  • Conscientious effort to develop help-seeking and problem-solving skills.
